What the research supports

No trial of this product was found. Saccharomyces boulardii has ingredient-level support: in a double-blinded placebo-controlled study, 20 dogs with chronic enteropathy improved in clinical activity index, stool frequency and consistency over 60 days (PMID 29212912); 53 healthy dogs fed S. boulardii DSM 34246 at 5 x 10^9 CFU per kg of feed for 35 days had lower fecal scores from day 14 (PMID 39852920); 14 healthy cats on the same dose had a fecal score of 3.5 against 4.3 (P=0.0006) and fecal dry matter of 46.3% against 33.2% (P<0.0001) (PMID 39852919); 25 breeding dogs had lower fecal calprotectin and cortisol (PMID 36006304). Those strains differ from the label's CNCM I-3799.

Worth knowing

No label warnings beyond the standard wording. In the Amazon reviews read, the recurring note was the price; one owner of a dog with inflammatory bowel disease saw no effect.
