Why it might work
Green kiwifruit combines fiber that holds water, the enzyme actinidin, which helps digest protein, and compounds that appear to speed transit and soften stool; the whole-fruit trials found the effect without the gas that fermentable fibers cause. A powder keeps the fiber and some of the enzyme but concentrates a fraction of a fruit into a tablet, so the dose is the question.
What the research supports
Ingredient-level evidence for the fruit, weaker for the powder. A 2023 international randomized trial in the American Journal of Gastroenterology gave 184 people, including those with functional constipation and constipation-predominant IBS, two green kiwifruits a day or psyllium for four weeks: kiwifruit produced a clinically relevant rise of at least 1.5 complete bowel movements a week and better abdominal comfort. An 8-week placebo-controlled trial of a proprietary kiwifruit extract in constipation-predominant IBS was published in 2025. This chewable states organic kiwifruit powder with Actazin; whether that matches the tested extract is not stated.
What the label discloses
The listed ingredient is organic kiwifruit powder, with the brand’s Actazin kiwifruit ingredient named in the description; the amount per tablet is not on the listing. The directions are two tablets a day, up to six. Enzymedica states third-party plus in-house testing across its range. No allergen statement is on the listing.
Who this tends to suit
We match this product to people reporting constipation, irregular bowel habits and a feeling of incomplete emptying. It fits someone whose priority is regularity or a steady daily routine. Whether it is the best fit for you depends on the rest of your answers — what you have already tried, what format you will take, and anything that has to be ruled out.
Where it may not fit
The label supports vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free. A chewable tablet only works if you will take it once a day, every day.
Side effects and what to be aware of
The good kiwifruit evidence is for eating two whole green kiwifruits a day; a chewable holds a small fraction of a fruit, and the label does not say how much or whether its powder is the extract that was tested. The review pool is small and split. It is expensive per day for what is essentially fruit powder.
