Does Slimbiosys work? The 13 species, the weight claim and what the label leaves out
Quick answer
Does Slimbiosys work? No trial of Slimbiosys exists. It lists 13 species at 3 billion CFU in one blend with no strain codes, plus 15 enzymes, and neither weight-linked strain (L. gasseri BNR17, B. lactis B420) is on the label. Pooled trials of probiotics in overweight adults find about half a kilogram, and a 2026 review of 10 trials found no significant difference in weight. Reviews are 4.9 from 1,744 on the brand’s widget, where 1,270 of 1,745 are dated within nine weeks of launch, and 4.0 from 1,983 on Amazon.

Slimbiosys is a 60-capsule bottle from envitamin, sold on its own site and on Amazon. Each two-capsule serving combines 13 probiotic species at 3 billion CFU with 15 digestive enzymes. The brand’s page calls it a “Unique Weight Support Formula”, and the one thing that sets it apart from the probiotics on the next shelf is that the label names no strain for any organism, so none of the trials of weight-linked strains can be matched to it.
What Slimbiosys is, and what the label leaves out
The Supplement Facts panel is an image on the brand page. It lists one probiotic blend of 3 billion CFU (30 mg) “consisting of” thirteen names: Lactobacillus acidophilus, plantarum, casei, paracasei, brevis, salivarius, bulgaricus and rhamnosus; Bifidobacterium lactis, bifidum, breve and longum; and Saccharomyces boulardii, a yeast. It is a proprietary blend, so there is one total and no count for any single organism, and no wording about CFU through the expiry date. No strain code appears for any of the thirteen.
Below that sit the enzymes, each in its own activity unit: amylase 5,000 DU, bromelain 870,000 PU, papain 130,000 PU, lactase 500 ALU, lipase 1,250 FIP and alpha-galactosidase 50 GalU, among 15 in all. The bottle reads “Pre+Probiotics”, but no prebiotic ingredient or fiber is printed on the panel, and we could not find the capsule shell or any other ingredients. An Amazon bullet says “free of… yeast”, while the panel lists a yeast species. The brand states third-party testing and a GMP facility and names no laboratory or certificate.
The weight claim and the strains behind it
The brand page carries the words “Unique Weight Support Formula” with a dagger whose footnote we could not find on the page. The Slimbiosys ads we read in the Meta Ad Library talk about hormone balance and stress response and do not mention weight. Two strains are often named in weight-loss probiotic marketing, and neither is on this label: L. gasseri BNR17 and B. animalis subsp. lactis B420. L. gasseri is not in the list, and “Bifidobacterium lactis” has no strain code.
Here is what those two strains did. In a 12-week trial of 90 adults with a BMI of 25 to 35, BNR17 at 10 billion CFU a day cut visceral fat area by 21.6 cm² against placebo (P=.012); 1 billion CFU did not, and the blood markers did not differ (Kim et al., 2018). In a six-month trial of 225 adults, B420 at 10 billion CFU a day showed no significant difference in body fat mass in the intention-to-treat group of 209. In a per-protocol subgroup of 134, B420 with 12 g of polydextrose showed −4.5% body fat mass (−1.4 kg, P=0.02) against placebo and B420 alone −3.0% (P=0.28) (Stenman et al., 2016). Slimbiosys supplies 3 billion CFU across all thirteen organisms, below the 10 billion used in the working arm of either trial even if those strains were present.
The trial of Slimbiosys itself, and the evidence for probiotics and weight
We found no trial of Slimbiosys: PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov returned no records for the product or the brand, and the brand page cites none. For probiotics as a class, pooled trials in overweight adults find small changes. A meta-analysis of 15 trials in 957 people found −0.60 kg of body weight (95% CI −1.19 to −0.01) and called the effect sizes small (Borgeraas et al., 2018). A 2019 review of 12 trials in 821 people found −0.55 kg (−0.91 to −0.19) (Wang et al., 2019). A 2026 review of 10 trials in 633 people found no significant difference in body weight (SMD −0.44, −0.92 to 0.04), and its authors call the findings preliminary (Ko et al., 2026). Probiotic effects are strain-specific and indication-specific (McFarland et al., 2018), which is why a species list without codes cannot be checked against a trial.
For the enzyme half, we found no randomized trial of a combined multi-enzyme and multi-probiotic capsule in healthy adults and none of this enzyme set at these amounts. The digestive enzymes guide covers what enzyme trials do show, and the probiotic guide sets out how strains map to trials.
How to take Slimbiosys
The panel gives a serving of two capsules with 30 servings per bottle. The brand’s how-to image says to take one or two capsules daily, consistently and alongside other healthy habits. We found no statement on food. The trials above ran 12 weeks and six months, so a fair test of any weight effect is measured in months, not days.
Side effects and who should not take it
The safety text on the Amazon listing says the supplement “may adversely affect existing medical conditions, including but not limited to: G.E.R.D., IBS, Stomach Ulcer(s), asthma”. The brand page carries no warnings at all.
The same text tells pregnant or nursing mothers, children under 18 and anyone with a known medical condition to consult a physician, and lists temporary reactions that include heartburn, gas, upset stomach, cramps, acid reflux, bloating, constipation, nausea, diarrhea, headaches, rash, dizziness and heart palpitations, calling them rare. It says nothing about medicines or a weakened immune system. Reviewers who report problems mention gas, stomach pain and nausea, and Amazon’s own summary counts 102 side-effect mentions and calls them mixed. The probiotic side effects guide covers the usual ones.
What the reviews say
The brand’s widget shows 4.9 from 1,744 reviews (1,632 five-star, 25 one-star), and 418 of 1,745 are flagged verified buyers. The page was created on 15 September 2022; the earliest review is dated 27 October 2022, and 1,270 of the 1,745 are dated 27 October to 31 December 2022, every one of them four or five stars. The 475 dated 2023 onward average 4.52. Amazon shows 4.0 from 1,983 ratings (58% five-star, 14% four, 12% three, 6% two, 10% one), with the review text behind a sign-in. We found no Trustpilot profile and no Better Business Bureau page, and could not read Reddit.
The recurring praise: less bloating (135 brand-site reviews mention it, and it is Amazon’s top theme at 313 mentions), more regular bowel movements (95), and lower appetite or weight loss (59 mention weight or appetite, 55 of them four or five stars, all self-reported). The recurring complaints are no noticeable effect, stomach upset, and billing.
Who makes it, the subscription and the refund terms
The site calls envitamin “a family business”. We found no legal entity name, street address or phone number on the site: the contact page is an email form, the terms say only “This website is operated by envitamin”, and the privacy policy points to contact details that are missing. Amazon lists the seller as envitamin. Support is support@envitamin.com.
The subscription box is unticked when the page loads, and the page says “Save 20% today… Cancel Anytime”. The plan data shows a 20% discount on order one and a zero adjustment after, which we read as the discount applying to the first delivery only; the page text does not say so in words. Seven of the 68 brand-site reviews posted over four recent months say the buyer did not mean to subscribe or ask for shipments to stop, all at one or two stars. The published refund policy is a 90-day guarantee on a first order, with return shipping paid by the customer and a possible physical return; it says second and later orders “are not eligible for standard returns or refunds” and that sale items cannot be returned. The same bottle is on Amazon at $29.97, where a single purchase involves no subscription.
Who Slimbiosys is for
- Someone who wants a mixed probiotic and enzyme capsule and accepts that it names no strains and has no trial of its own.
- A shopper who buys one bottle and checks the subscription box before checkout.
- A person the label’s warning list (GERD, IBS, ulcers, asthma, pregnancy) does not apply to.
If a named strain with a trial is the goal, Culturelle Digestive Daily prints its strain, and Seed DS-01 lists strain codes for each organism. For enzymes alone, Enzymedica Digest Gold is in the catalog.
Cost
One bottle is $29.99 on the brand site, which is $1.00 a day at the label serving of two capsules, or $0.50 a day at one capsule. Three bottles are $84.99 ($0.94 a day) and five are $134.99 ($0.90 a day). The first subscription order is $23.99 for one bottle ($0.80 a day). Amazon lists $29.97 and $28.47 on Subscribe & Save, and $55.99 for a two-pack. The Meta ads we read advertise “50% off”, and that discount was not on the product page.

Common questions
Does Slimbiosys work for weight loss?
No trial of Slimbiosys was found. The label has no strain codes and neither L. gasseri BNR17 nor B. lactis B420, and its 3 billion CFU in total is below the 10 billion CFU a day used in the working arms of the trials of those strains. Pooled trials of probiotics in overweight adults find about half a kilogram at most. Some reviewers report lower appetite or weight loss and others report no change.
What are the Slimbiosys side effects?
The Amazon listing’s safety text lists possible temporary reactions including gas, upset stomach, cramps, bloating, constipation, nausea, diarrhea, headaches and rash, and calls them rare. It says it may adversely affect GERD, IBS, stomach ulcers and asthma, and tells pregnant or nursing mothers, under-18s and anyone with a medical condition to ask a physician. Reviewers who report problems mention gas, stomach pain and nausea.
What strains and how many CFU are in Slimbiosys?
Thirteen species as one proprietary blend of 3 billion CFU per two-capsule serving: eight Lactobacillus species, four Bifidobacterium species and Saccharomyces boulardii. No strain code is printed for any of them, no count is given per organism, and no prebiotic appears on the panel despite “Pre+Probiotics” on the bottle. See the probiotic guide for why codes matter.
How much does Slimbiosys cost?
One 60-capsule bottle is $29.99 on envitamin.com and $29.97 on Amazon, which is $1.00 a day at the label serving of two capsules. The three-pack is $84.99 ($0.94 a day) and the five-pack $134.99 ($0.90 a day). Subscribing takes 20% off the first order ($23.99 for one bottle), and the plan data reads as later deliveries at the standard rate.
Who owns Envitamin, and how do I cancel the subscription?
The site calls it a family business and publishes no company name, street address or phone number; the seller on Amazon is listed as envitamin. The subscription box is unticked on the product page, and cancellation is by account or by email to support@envitamin.com. Several recent brand-site reviews say the buyer did not know they were subscribed.
What is the Slimbiosys refund policy?
A 90-day guarantee applies to a first order: contact support within 90 days, a physical return may be required, and the customer pays return shipping. The policy says second and later orders are not eligible for standard returns or refunds, so monthly subscription deliveries after the first fall outside it. Sale items cannot be returned.
Do the enzymes in Slimbiosys do anything?
The panel lists 15 enzymes, among them amylase, protease, lipase, lactase and alpha-galactosidase, in activity units that differ by enzyme. We found no trial of this enzyme set at these amounts or of a combined enzyme-and-probiotic capsule. The digestive enzymes guide covers what enzyme trials show.
