Those are the themes that recur across the reviews. Moderate review confidence — Amazon shows 4.4 from 192 independent ratings and Walmart 4.7 from 23, but the brand’s own page shows 4.5 from 207 through a review widget, and the only Trustpilot profile (2.2 from 11, unclaimed) covers the whole brand and several older products.
Why it might work
The label lists four fibers: resistant potato starch (Solnul) and green banana resistant starch, which are starches that escape digestion in the small intestine; guar fiber (Sunfiber, partially hydrolyzed guar gum), a soluble fiber; and soluble corn fiber. Gut bacteria ferment these fibers in the colon and produce short-chain fatty acids such as butyrate, and the brand says this feeds bacteria such as Bifidobacterium. Soluble fibers form a gel that slows digestion and softens stool, while resistant starch has been studied mainly for blood glucose. The brand states a two-to-one soluble to insoluble ratio, which fits 4 g soluble out of 6 g. Because the amount of each fiber is not stated and trial doses of resistant starch and guar are often higher than a share of 6 g, what each part contributes cannot be checked from the label.
What the research supports
The evidence here is for ingredient classes and one branded fiber, not this powder. Solnul resistant potato starch, one of four fibers in the blend, increased Bifidobacterium and reduced diarrhea- and constipation-associated stools at 3.5 g a day over four weeks in a 75-person placebo-controlled trial funded by its maker, but this label gives a 6 g total with no split between the four fibers. The one published Supergut trial tested a meal-replacement shake in 192 adults with type 2 diabetes and lowered HbA1c by 0.64 points against placebo; no trial of this powder was found. Meta-analyses of resistant starch on blood glucose found larger effects above 28 g a day than the 6 g a scoop here.
What the label discloses
The panel prints 6 g of fiber and 4 g of soluble fiber per 7.8 g scoop and names four fibers as one proprietary blend with no per-fiber amounts. The brand states third-party testing, Non-GMO Project verification and a Monash University Low FODMAP certification, and the Amazon page links a certificate of analysis. No laboratory is named, and the panel does not state the resistant-starch amount.
Who this tends to suit
We match this product to people reporting bloating, gas and irregular bowel habits. It fits someone whose priority is a steady daily routine, regularity or day-to-day comfort. Whether it is the best fit for you depends on the rest of your answers — what you have already tried, what format you will take, and anything that has to be ruled out.
Where it may not fit
The label supports gluten-free, vegan and no added sweeteners. A powder only works if you will take it once a day, every day.
Side effects and what to be aware of
Amazon reviewers say the canister is narrow and holds 20 servings, which is ten days at the brand’s two-scoop headline dose, and a few report extra gas or bloating. The brand lists no warnings on the panel and advises starting with one serving and increasing gradually. On the brand-wide Trustpilot profile (2.2 from 11 reviews) reviewers describe subscriptions renewed without notice and, in earlier years, orders that did not ship.
Common questions
Does Supergut Foundational Daily Fiber work?
No trial of this powder was found. Its resistant potato starch (Solnul) raised Bifidobacterium and reduced diarrhea- and constipation-associated stools at 3.5 g a day in a 75-person trial, but the label gives only a 6 g total for four fibers. The brand cites 2026 observational results (68% reporting bloating relief) that are self-reported with no methods published. On Amazon, 71% of 192 ratings are five-star and 4% are one-star.
What are Supergut fiber side effects?
The panel lists none and the brand advises starting with one scoop and increasing slowly. A few reviewers report more gas or bloating, which is common when fiber intake rises. The blend carries a Monash University Low FODMAP certification, which the brand notes it pays a license fee to use.
How much does Supergut Foundational Daily Fiber cost?
On Supergut’s site 40 servings cost $50, which is $1.25 a scoop, and 20 servings cost $27. Subscribing takes 20% off, so the 40-serving canister is $40. Amazon and Walmart list the 20-serving canister at $24.96, and the brand’s headline dose of two scoops a day doubles the daily cost to about $2.50.
How does the Supergut subscription and refund policy work?
Supergut is sold by Uplifting Results Labs through its own site, Amazon and Walmart, with a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first order only. Its Trustpilot profile is unclaimed with 2.2 from 11 reviews, and reviewers report subscriptions renewing without a warning email and, in 2024, orders that did not ship; the brand says it sends a renewal reminder and that subscriptions can be skipped or cancelled at any time.
Supergut vs a plain Sunfiber powder?
Plain Sunfiber powders contain only partially hydrolyzed guar gum. Supergut combines Sunfiber guar fiber with resistant potato starch, green banana resistant starch and corn fiber in a 6 g scoop, without stating how much of each. The 12-week trial in irritable bowel syndrome that improved bloating used 6 g a day of partially hydrolyzed guar gum alone.
